How does this work?
Sorry, kinda long.
Im an OFA. A month ago, the paint supervisor approached me and asked if I wanted some extra hours since I’m only part time. I started in September. Well I did great, so he asked if I’d want to transfer over. So I said yeah, I’m down! Fast forward to today. I get approached by my immediate supervisor and was handed this paper. He said “we usually don’t hand these out unless you’re being promoted or being put on full time”. He’s been trying to stop me from leaving to go to paint. Today the store manager said “I have a bigger plan for (me), I need him to go to flooring”. And then he said what the “plan” was to the asm, paint supervisor, and my supervisor. But they were told not to mention it to me. I asked if it was because they wanted me in full time? And the answer I was given was “well, there’s no way you can move up to supervisor if you stay in ofa and as a part timer”. And, I found out that the supervisor for flooring is moving to a different department. Is it normal for someone who has only been there for 4 months to move up to supervisor? Why would my current supervisor be pissed about it and try to block it? And this paper…is it basically a PACE review on myself to rate myself? I don’t wanna fail at whatever I end up doing. So I’m sorta hesitant of signing off on it. But more hrs and more $ is what I want/need. Any insight? Please and thank you.
